Recently more than 1,000 middle schools students led by volunteers from the Ford Motor Company Fund and United Way Mexico launched the Ford Driving Dreams (Impulsando Sueños) scholarship program in Tlalnepantla de Baz, Mexico. The two-day event included activities where volunteers read to children, facilitated a book donation and engaged students in computer coding, games and inspirational talks. You can see the enthusiasm of Ford employee volunteers and students alike in the video below:
Under the scholarship program, students will submit essays answering the question, “What drives your dreams?” for the chance to earn one of 100 scholarships awarded by Ford. The three-year scholarships will help students and their families defray the costs of tuition in private middle schools, supplies, transportation, and other basic needs that often keep students from finishing the school year and moving on to the next grade level.
